Our Team

Joey Gould
Professor Joey Gould started Jiu Jitsu in 2007 under Alliance’s multiple-time world champion, Franjinha Miller. After earning his brown belt, he joined the U.S. Coast Guard and later earned his black belt from the renowned Andre Galvao. His military discipline enhances his role as a professor, and he’s committed to leading Alliance Jiu Jitsu Ramona with passion and expertise.
Marcos Lopes
Marcos Lopes began his Jiu Jitsu journey in 2009 in Tabatinga, Brazil. After competing in the U.S. in 2017, he relocated to further his career, training with elite athletes. He earned his black belt under the renowned Johnny Faria at Alliance San Diego in 2020. Marcos has earned numerous titles and is a respected athlete and mentor, dedicated to shaping the next generation of champions.
Zac MacDonald
Zac MacDonald began his Jiu Jitsu journey in 1998 on the USS Enterprise, where he founded the ship’s first submission grappling club. During his 25-year Navy career, he trained and competed worldwide. After retiring, Zac joined Ramona BJJ under Professor Kevin Hosseini, becoming one of the team’s top athletes and earning titles, including brown belt master world champion medals in his weight class and the absolute division. His inspiring journey continues to motivate the next generation of martial artists.
Jennifer Jabbour
Jennifer, a writer and life coach, began her professional Jiu Jitsu training in 2014 under the Ribeiro Jiu Jitsu association alongside her family. Demonstrating exceptional skill and dedication, she began competing and became the 2018 IBJJF Pan-Am purple belt champion.
Passionate about teaching Jiu Jitsu to women, she aims to empower them to recognize their strengths, overcome their fears, and build confidence.

With a presence in over 30 countries and boasting more than 30 thousand students, Alliance Jiu Jitsu holds the remarkable distinction of being the sole team to secure the IBJJF world championship title an impressive 14 times.
